Infection Control Resource Guide
This document is available to UKHCA members only. Information on how to join UKHCA.
Infection control is an issue very high on the political agenda at the moment.
Infection prevention and control forms part of the Care Quality Commission Essential Standards for Quality and Safety and they will expect organisations to follow the Department of Health Code of Practice for health and adult social care on the prevention and control of infections.
In response, UKHCA have produced an Infection Control Resource Guide, which gives domiciliary care organisations advice and assistance with how to meet the six criteria of the Code that are relevant to domiciliary care. [ID 290] Download Infection Control Resource Guide

Pandemic 'flu contingency plan template for domiciliary care
This document is available to UKHCA members only. Information on how to join UKHCA.
The UKHCA member helpline has taken a number of calls from members about business contingency planning templates for swine 'flu. This template for UKHCA members provides some ideas as to what homecare organisations could be thinking about and can use as preparation for a flu pandemic. It is not a wholly comprehensive list, nor will all the suggestions be applicable in different organisations, however it provides a basis for organisations to feed into their own contingency planning arrangements.
