Types of Membership and fees

UKHCA has three types of membership:

Full Membership

Full membership is open to home care agencies in the independent, voluntary and statutory sectors, who offer or arrange home care or similar services such as home nursing, housing support or domestic care on its own behalf and which may operate through one or more branches. For this purpose a ‘branch’ is defined as an operating base which receives requests for services; organises services; sells and promotes services or recruits home care workers.

All Full members sign a declaration to state that they and their branches agree to abide by the UKHCA Code of Practice and are entitled to receive the full range of membership benefits that are available.

Annual payment may be made by cheque made payable to UKHCA, BACS or from 1st June 2008 annual direct debit or credit card.

Home care agencies are required to be trading at the time they join. This means that the organisation has at least one service user and one care worker, and are registered with:

where requested to do so.

Organisations seeking full membership may also be asked to provide additional information in support of their application, at UKHCA’s request, including their certificate of registration with their statutory regulator, where appropriate.

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate membership is open to any society, association or body not being a home care organisation, but having similar or sympathetic objectives to the association.

Affiliate Membership Rate Annual Payment £355.00 (or £367.43 if paying by credit card)

Annual payment may be made by cheque made payable to UKHCA, BACS or from 1st June 2008 annual direct debit or credit card.

Associate Membership

Associate membership is open to individuals not directly engaged in the activity of an organisation that would qualify for full membership. An individual can not join UKHCA as an associate member if their employing organisation would be eligible for full membership.

Associate Membership Rate Annual Payment £192.00 (or £198.72 if paying by credit card)
