Skills for Care Project 2005/2006Started: 10/05/2005 We received our allocation of Skills for Care units in May 2005. This current project will provide funding of £75 per induction and completed NVQ unit. European Social Fund (ESF) Project (England) Engaging Employers In Homecare (2005-2007)Started: 01/01/2005 UKHCA is delighted to announce that it has been awarded nearly £800,000 from the European Social Fund for a three year project that is to be delivered in Objective 3 areas of England (excludes Cornwall, Wirral and South Yorkshire). The project will address the need to update and up-skill home care workers, with a special focus on isolated, small and medium sized organisations within the independent sector in England currently not engaged in training. An Updated Profile of Independent Sector Home Care Providers and their Workforce in England (2004)Started: 01/04/2004 UKHCA has been sponsored by Department of Health and Topss UK to re-run the survey entitled ‘Who Cares? An Updated Profile of Independent Sector Home Care Providers and their Workforce in Scotland (2004)Started: 01/04/2004 UKHCA has been sponsored by Topss UK, The Scottish Social Services Council and the Department of Health to re-run the survey entitled 'Who Cares? A Profile of Independent Sector Home Care Providers and their Workforce in Scotland' which it carried out with the Department of Health in 2000. Sexual Orientation and Religious Belief Guidance (2004)Started: 01/01/2004 In December 2003 new legislation, the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 and the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 came into being. Employers and individuals needed information about how these new rights and responsibilities affected them. The Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) recognised that employers and individuals would demand information, advice and guidance about this new legislation and made an amount of money available (via grant form) to support organisations wishing to assist in meeting this demand. The United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) jointly with the Social Care Association (SCA) received financial support from the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) to produce this Guidance for their members. Commissioning Home Care: Changing Practice: Delivering Quality? (2004)Started: 01/01/2003 In 2003, the Change Agent Team commissioned this research in order to gain a national picture of the home care market and of the methods used by social services in England to address the needs of people requiring care or support at home.
