Health and Social Care QualificationsNational Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are designed to be evidence of a person’s knowledge and ability. They are linked to the national occupational standards for each industry, with different levels identifying the needs of individual roles and responsibilities, i.e. Health and Social Care are the identified qualifications for domiciliary care, with Level 2 designated as the correct level for home care workers and Level 3 for supervisory or more senior workers. Obtaining an vocational qualificationIn order to gain a vocational qualification learners have to register with an NVQ Assessment Centre. This could either be a local college or an independent Centre, such as the UKHCA Assessment Centre. Learners have to demonstrate their ability in providing care to the identified standard as well as their knowledge and understanding of why tasks are performed in a specific way. Why choose UKHCA Assessment Centre? The Centre has developed a range of delivery methods to meet the specific learning needs of domiciliary care workers, as an alternative to the traditional college based learning route. This has led to an impressive completion rate where the majority of qualifications are gained within 6 months.
