UKHCA's Regulatory Resources - England

Guidance about Compliance, Essential standards of quality and safetyGuidance about Compliance, Essential standards of quality and safety

All adult social care providers must re-register with the Care Quality Commission between April and October 2010 to state their compliance with the new Essential Standards for Quality and Safety. The Essential Standards replace the Domiciliary Care National Minimum Standards in England and they represent a new way of working for providers which focuses on outcomes for the service user rather than inputs from the provider.

This page provides links to UKHCA resources organised by each of the 28 Outcomes described in the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety. We have also included external links where we know of useful information that can be found elsewhere.

We will continually update this area when we produce new resources specifically related to a regulatory topic.

There is also a Judgement Framework to accompany the standards which explains how CQC will judge providers' compliance with the regulations of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
