Our members are at the heart of everything we do.

This is why our board is primarily made up of nominated individuals from member organisations. It also includes key senior staff and notable people from within the homecare sector, who represent us as ambassadors and champion us and our work.

Jon Stone

Jon Stone

Director of Corporate Services

Jon possesses an extensive professional background firmly grounded in the non-profit, charity, and membership sectors. His expertise plays a pivotal role in nurturing the sustainability and long-term growth of non-profit organisations. Most recently, he occupied a crucial position at Parentkind, the membership organisation for Parent Teacher Associations in the United Kingdom.

In his current role at the Homecare Association, Jon oversees the strategic and operational aspects of finance, IT, and various corporate services. He also serves and retains provider and affiliate members. His responsibilities encompass ensuring the seamless functionality of membership systems, services, and benefits, thereby providing comprehensive support to the association's members. He establishes robust corporate governance systems and ensures strict compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Through these efforts, Jon effectively identifies, monitors, and mitigates financial, IT, HR, and other commercial risks.

Jon's proficiency is further underpinned by his academic background. He holds a Master's degree (MBA) in Charity Management and an AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4). Additionally, he possesses a Bachelor's degree in music and sound recording from the University of Surrey.

Before assuming his role as Executive Director of Corporate Services at Parentkind, Jon gained invaluable experience while serving as the Head of Operations at Merton Voluntary Service Council. His career also encompasses successful leadership of Deen City Farm, an educational charity located in Wimbledon, and operational management as the Head of Operations at The Orpheus Centre, a residential performing arts centre for young disabled artists — a charity founded by Sir Richard Stilgoe.

In a voluntary capacity, Jon chairs a mental health charity, sits on the board of his local Volunteer Centre and on the board of a Multi-Academy Trust. Complementing Jon's professional journey, his wife has dedicated two decades to a managerial career in the care sector, with a particular focus on homecare. This close association with the care sector has enriched Jon's understanding of its intrinsic value, the dedicated efforts of our sector, and the formidable challenges faced by our members.
