The United Kingdom Homecare Association Ltd (UKHCA) is the professional association for organisations who supply care to people in their own homes with over two-thousand members in the UK. Our success is dependant on the skill and motivation of our employees to ensure the effectiveness and development of operations and strategy.

Communications Officer

Circa £31,000 per annum, including London Weighting
Based in Wallington, South West London

Make a difference for older and disabled people using care at home.

UKHCA is the national professional association for homecare agencies. Our mission is to promote high quality, sustainable care and support so that people can continue to live at home and in their local community – the preference for the vast majority of older and disabled people.

As a member of UKHCA’s Policy and Campaigns team you will play a vital role in shaping the Association’s communications to maximise our reach and impact with government policymakers, homecare providers and stakeholders across a range of print, broadcast and social media.

We are the voice of homecare providers and campaign to raise the profile of homecare services and the benefits that home-based support brings to individuals, their families and wider communities. The homecare sector also plays a vital role in reducing pressure on an over-stretched NHS.

A key element of our campaigning activity is to make the case for economic and regulatory conditions which support homecare providers to deliver high quality services which meet people’s individual needs.

You will take the lead on editing and producing UKHCA’s bi-monthly magazine, “Homecarer”, and will support the Policy and Campaigns Director in engagement with professional journalists and stakeholders.

We offer:

  • Pension scheme
  • 28 days’ annual leave + 8 public holidays
  • Induction and professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative environment with experienced team members
