Have your say on NICE draft Homecare quality standard 26/01/2016

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have announced an important consultation on the draft Homecare Quality Standard, which follows the NICE Homecare Guideline issued in September 2015. We encourage members in England to respond as this is a real opportunity to influence the shape and content of the NICE Quality Standards.

NICE Quality Standards are a set of seven statements designed to drive measurable improvements in safety, experiences of people using services and effectiveness of care services. Members will want to consider these carefully and comment on whether they are achievable in the provision of day to day homecare. To comment, you need to register as a stakeholder on the NICE website, if you haven't registered before: www.nice.org.uk/get-involved/Stakeholder-Registration Individuals do not need to register.

A briefing paper, the draft quality standards and comments form are at:
www.nice.org.uk/guidance/indevelopment/GID-QSD135/consultation/html-content and the NICE Homecare Guideline issued in September 2015, which is useful for comparison purposes, is at: www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng21 Responses should be sent on NICE's comments form to QSconsultations@nice.org.uk by 5pm on 22 February 2016.

NICE is also carrying out a general survey about its national guidance on health and social care. To give your views, please complete an online survey at: www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=145390138865
