UKHCA responds to CQC's  proposed new fee structure for homecare providers 18/01/2018

CQC has consulted on a number of options for how fees will be charged from April 2018. CQC's intention is that fees are more proportionate to the different sizes of organisations it regulates - it says around 70% of providers will pay lower fees and around 30% higher fees. UKHCA's survey of members on how CQC should charge fees in this consultation helped to inform the options put forward in this consultation. These include options to charge fees based on:

  • Total hours of care provided over a seven day period, or
  • The number of people receiving support with regulated activities at a location at a given time, or
  • Annual turnover by location, or
  • Number whole time equivalent staff employed at a location, or
  • Number of locations.

There are also proposals for some of the fee options to be subject to a minimum and/or a maximum amount. The various options have different implications for different-sized organisations.

The consultation closed on 18 January. UKHCA has responded to CQC on behalf of members. Our thanks to members who took the time to contribute their views. The consultation document is on CQC's website.
