This document is available to UKHCA members only. Information on how to join UKHCA.

Homecarer providers will be aware that The Bribery Act came into force on 1 July 2011, containing new offences to help courts and prosecutors tackle to bribery at home or abroad. The Act affects incorporated bodies (companies, partnerships and charities), including those which contract with councils or who have overseas recruitment partners. Businesses that use contract managers or other employees to manage relationships with councils should also take note, as they will be liable for the acts of their employees. Anthony Collins Solicitors LLP have prepared a free briefing for members on the Act, which also describes their specimen anti-corruption policy and compliance checklist available on a fixed fee basis. Now updated in July 2013.
