National Minimum Wage Toolkit (Revised September 2017)

To help homecare providers to ensure they are meeting the National Minimum Wage requirements within their workforce, UKHCA's recommended solicitors Anthony Collins Solicitors LLP have prepared a National Minimum Wage Toolkit.

The toolkit sets out the current law with practical examples, and gives providers a step-by-step compliance assessment tool. It also contains a practical section for homecare providers written by UKHCA Policy Director Colin Angel on possible actions to achieve compliance with the National Minimum Wage.

The Toolkit has been revised several times. It was updated in April 2014 to include revised penalties for non-compliance; in March 2015 to reflect increased NMW rates and to clarify issues relating to enhanced rates of pay (paragraphs 16 and 85); in June 2015 to include new consolidated NMW regulations and case law, and the change to the Pay & Work Rights Helpline, in March 2016 to include the National Living Wage, the increase in penalties and recent case law, and in June 2017 to include new NMW rates and changes in guidance and caselaw on sleep-ins. The June document received a few drafting changes and the final version was uploaded in September 2017.
