UKHCA respond to invitation to provide evidence on the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill

Following an invitation from the Health and Social Care Committee at the National Assembly in Cardiff, UKHCA have submitted written evidence in response to the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill.

The Bill will give the Care and Social Services Inspector (CSSIW) powers to rate services after inspection and require providers to write annual reports on their performance. The Bill also introduces a requirement for CSSIW to assess the wellbeing of service users.

Care Council for Wales will become Social Care Wales with extra powers, namely an advisory power to help providers improve.
