Outline letter to local authorities on unviable fee rates

This document is available to UKHCA members only. Information on how to join UKHCA.

UKHCA has produced the outline of a letter that you can complete and send to local authorities who are paying unrealistically low fee rates. The letter has been prepared by UKHCA’s recommended solicitors, and UKHCA, and can be used to form the basis of making either a formal legal challenge, or voicing your concerns to a local authority about unacceptably low rates. The majority of the document relates to the Care Act 2014 and the Statutory Guidance that accompanies it. Please note that the outline letter is applicable to councils in England only and it does not relate to services commissioned by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). Updated by UKHCA in January 2020.
