“Working Time” and the National Minimum Wage

This document is available to UKHCA members only. Information on how to join UKHCA.

There was considerable media reporting on 10 September 2015 relating to the interpretation of “working time” following a judgement by the European Court of Justice (ECJ). This briefing was prepared by UKHCA, with assistance from Anthony Collins Solicitors LLP, on the effect of the judgement on "working time" under the EU's Working Time Directive, and National Minimum Wage Regulations in the UK. (Employment law changes rapidly so UKHCA members may wish to contact our legal helpline for a current interpretation of the law concerning working time.)
