Accessible Information Standard

This document is available to UKHCA members only. Information on how to join UKHCA.

An accessible information standard (AIS) became mandatory on NHS providers and adult social care providers of publicly funded care from 31 July 2016. This reinforces providers’ legal responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 to supply accessible information, and requirements in CQC Provider Guidance to support people to make decisions about their care. UKHCA's briefing for members aims to help them check their compliance with the AIS. Although aimed at homecare providers of 'publicly-funded care' the briefing will be of interest to providers of privately-funded care and assist with their Equality Act and CQC compliance. Revised December 2017.
