Working with Care Providers to understand costs - a guide for adult social care commissioners

This document is available to UKHCA members only. Information on how to join UKHCA.

This guide for commissioners contains a detailed breakdown and analysis of the costs faced by providers in delivering homecare services. Although drafted for use in England, it can be used across the UK to encourage commissioners to adopt the principles in their costing exercises and pricing arrangements.

CIPFA produced this document in 2017 with the Care Providers Alliance and others as part of a Department of Health project to support the implementation of the Care Act.  Colin Angel, Policy Director, United Kingdom Homecare Association (UKHCA) was on the project steering group and helped to draft the guide.
