UKHCA Media Release

New UKHCA board members appointed - 13/10/2016

Following this week’s UKHCA’s annual general meeting, the Association welcomed new board members and said farewell and thank you to non-executive directors at the end of their terms (notes 1 and 2).

The Association welcome three new directors:-

• Richard Blyth of Saga Healthcare, Redhill

• Sarah Leskinen-Keel of Agincare

• Paula Hoggarth of Radis Community Care

Dominique Kent of the Good Care Group was re-elected to the Board for another 3-year term.

UKHCA’s board bids farewell and thanks to Raina Summerson of Agincare, and to Lynda Gardner of Oxford Aunts, who has served UKHCA for an impressive 17 years, most recently as the association’s Honorary Secretary.

Mike Padgham, UKHCA’s Chair, said:

UKHCA’s board would like to extend a warm welcome to the newly elected non- executive directors and is confident that their wealth of experience and skills will help represent the views of providers.

“Our board is instrumental in taking the lead in the strategic direction of the Association. This is particularly important when homecare is under intense pressure.

“On behalf of the Association, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Lynda Gardener and Raina Summerson for their sterling work and commitment to helping UKHCA support providers deliver high quality, sustainable care.”

During UKHCA’s Board meeting the following day members of the Board made the following appointments:

• Trevor Brocklebank of Home Instead Senior Care was elected Vice Chair of the Association, having been UKHCA’s Treasurer for the previous 3 years;

• Dominique Kent was elected to the position of Honorary Secretary;

• Richard Walker of Optimo Care Group was elected Treasurer;

• Mike Potts was co-opted to the Board as the Association’s Advisor for Health.

Mike Padgham said:

“The Association is grateful for the commitment that board members make when taking on additional roles on UKHCA’s Board and I look forward to working with colleagues over the coming year.”
