  • Paula Hoggarth of Radis Group, who stood down as Board representative for Wales. A further election will be held to fill this vacancy.

The Board appointed Dominique Kent as Chair and Roger Booker of Direct Health Group as Vice-Chair.

The Board also reappointed Mike Smith of Trinity Homecare Ltd as Treasurer and David Chalk of Windrush Care Ltd as Honorary Secretary.

UKHCA's new chair, Dominique Kent, said:

"I am both proud and delighted to be elected as chair of UKHCA having worked on the Board for the last six years. We have a wonderful team in place to create the movement we need in social care. We continue to work tirelessly to enable people to stay living in their own homes and communities whilst treating our care staff as the professionals they are. It is all of our responsibility to create a sustainable sector and attract the talent we need. I feel privileged to play my part."

Roger Booker, Managing Director of Direct Health Group, said:

"I am delighted to have been appointed as Vice Chair. UKHCA carries out a crucial role on behalf of providers, supporting smaller businesses as they grow, and holding councils and Government to account in all our efforts to secure properly-funded and stable homecare services for all the older and disabled people who depend on them. I believe that my experience in the sector will strengthen UKHCA in achieving our goals in these areas."

Martin Jones, CEO of Home Instead Senior Care and new non-executive director for Band 3, said:

"It is a real honour to be elected to the Board and I look forward to joining others to collectively champion and raise the profile of the highest quality homecare. Homecare should be seen as the 'default norm' in the UK and an attractive place to work and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside UKHCA to achieve this."

Everyone at UKHCA warmly welcomes the elections and appointments and looks forward to working with the newly-constituted board, and all those associated with it, in the future.
