NICE - New quality standard on people's experience using adult social care servicesNICE - New quality standard on people's experience using adult social care services

NICE have announced that the 'People's experience using adult social care services quality standard', has been published on their website. The quality standards refer to:

  • Discussing people's personal strengths, preferences, aspirations and needs when they have a care and support needs assessment.
  • People using adult social care services having as much control as they would like over their personal budget.
  • People using adult social care services having continuity of care and support.
  • The views of people using adult social care being used to inform service improvement.

Members in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be interested in this standard. However, decisions on how NICE guidance applies in the devolved administrations will be made by ministers in the Welsh government, Scottish government, and Northern Ireland Executive.
