Interim NHS People Plan publishedInterim NHS People Plan published

NHS England has published an interim People Plan in support of its Long Term Plan which set out a 10-year plan for delivering healthcare in England. The interim People Plan sets out a vision for those who work for the NHS to enable them to deliver the NHS Long Term Plan.

The plans include an ambition to increase the numbers of nursing associates with 7,500 starting during 2019. More programmes will be developed to enable nursing associates who want to go on to become registered nurses to do so through a two-year part-time course.

A full five-year People Plan will be published alongside a detailed implementation plan for the NHS Long Term Plan. This will follow the government's next Spending Review expected later this year.
