Ombudsman urges providers to signpost complainantsOmbudsman urges providers to signpost complainants

The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman is urging care providers to signpost clients to its service at the end of their complaints process. The Ombudsman's annual review of adult social care complaints has found the number of complaints it receives from people who pay for their care privately has levelled off. It suggests the independent sector could do more to highlight people's rights to complain to the Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman is now upholding 66% of all investigations, and in areas like fees and charging for care – this figure has risen to 73%. More information can be found at: LGSO website
