Helen Whately MP is new Minister for CareHelen Whately MP is new Minister for Care

Welcome to Helen Whately MP, who was appointed Minister for Care at the Department of Health and Social Care on 13 February 2020. She was previously Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and has taken an active interest in social care, including accompanying a homecare worker on her daily visits.

Jane Townson, CEO at UKHCA, said: "Never before has there been a more important time to support citizens to live in the place they call home, with the people they love, connected to their communities, and with a sense of purpose.

"We look forward to working with Helen to ensure that supporting people to live well and independently at home is central to the UK's strategy for health and well-being."

Caroline Dinenage MP, the former Care Minister, has moved to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as a Minister of State.
