Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps, has made a written statement to Parliament which provides details of passengers who will not be required to self-isolate when they arrive in England from a list of exempt countries and territories, including France and Spain. This applies from 10 July 2020. The country exemptions do not apply if people have visited or transited through any non-exempt country or territory in the preceding 14 days.

The Guidance, Coronavirus (COVID-19): how to self-isolate when you travel to the UK, updated 6 July 2020, which includes people who are exempt from the requirements, has been updated to include the list of exempted countries.
