Shielding to be paused in Wales from 16 August 2020Shielding to be paused in Wales from 16 August 2020

The Chief Medical Officer for Wales has confirmed that people in Wales who are shielding will no longer need to do so after 16 August. Whilst people who were shielding will be able to go to work, school or the shops as usual, it is recommended that they take other measures to protect themselves such as staying 2m away from others and washing their hands frequently.

UKHCA is continuing to seek clearer guidance on how the return to work of social care staff who are shielding should be managed.

See the statement from the Welsh Government on shielding here.
