Minister announces extra £22.7m to help adult social care sectorMinister announces extra £22.7m to help adult social care sector

Health and Social Services Minister Vaughan Gething has announced £22.7m funding to help meet the additional costs of adult social care providers in Wales in the pandemic.

The money is in addition to the £40m Welsh Government made available to local authorities in April.

Financial pressures include those on care homes facing financial challenges through loss of income as a result of increased vacancies.

The funding will be made available immediately and continue until the end of September, when the situation will be reviewed.
