£5 million funding boost for social prescribing in England£5 million funding boost for social prescribing in England

The National Academy for Social Prescribing has been awarded £5 million to help people to stay connected and support wellbeing following COVID-19. They will do this by connecting people to intiatives in their local areas that can support their mental health and wellbeing, including supporting access to green spaces, physical activities, singing, art and money advice.

Further information available here.

NHS England also launched a recruitment campaign earlier this month to increase the number of link workers involved in social prescribing in order to combat loneliness and isolation arising as a result of the pandemic.
