New guidance has been issued to inform people how to use their coronavirus (COVID-19) home test kit. The step-by-step guide, which relates to both adults and children, says:
- Follow the right steps in the correct order.
- Find your nearest Royal Mail priority postbox (5 to 10 mins). The guidance explains how to do this and says complete this task before you take the swab test.
- Register test kit online (10 to 15 minutes). You must register to get your test results
- Take swab sample (5 to 10 minutes)
- Post your completed test kit. You must do this within 2 days of receiving your test kit, if possible. Completed tests must be posted no later than 1 hour before last collection. The guidance says what to do if you cannot get to a priority postbox.
- Get test results by text and email (2 days).
