The government has announced that social contact restrictions will relax from 23 and 27 December to allow families and friends to meet over Christmas, subject to forming a 'Christmas bubble' of up to three households and taking steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The detailed rules are in new guidance which applies across the UK: Making a Christmas bubble with friends and family - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The guidance warns that forming a bubble if you are vulnerable or clinically extremely vulnerable carries additional risks. Guidance is to be published for the clinically extremely vulnerable on how to manage the revised tiered system in England from 2 December and over Christmas.
