The Chancellor has announced National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage rates from April 2021, in his Spending Review.
For individuals aged 23 and over the NLW rises by 2.2% from £8.72 to £8.91. (This follows a previous recommendation by the Low Pay Commission that the NLW should apply to those aged 23 and over.)
For 21 to 22-year-olds the rate increases by 2.0% from £8.20 to £8.36 per hour.
For 18 to 20-year-olds the rate increases by 1.7% from £6.45 to £6.56 per hour.
For 16 to 17-year-olds the rate increases by 1.5% from £4.55 to £4.62 per hour.
For apprentices the rate increases by 3.6% from £4.15 to £4.30 per hour.
The daily accommodation offset rate increases by 2.0% from £8.20 to £8.36.
