Scotland to introduce pre-departure coronavirus testingScotland to introduce pre-departure coronavirus testing

From 0400 on Friday 15 January 2021, passengers travelling to Scotland from outside the Common Travel Area must have a valid negative COVID-19 test result, taken no more than three days before the scheduled time of departure. This will be checked by operators, and passengers with a positive test result or an invalid certificate will be refused boarding.

Passengers arriving from countries not on the quarantine exemption list will still have to self-isolate for ten days, even with a negative test.

Spot checks will be carried out, and fixed penalty notices may be issued to those who don't comply.

Non-essential travel to or from Scotland and will not immediately change.
