Travel corridors suspended and pre-departure testing from todayTravel corridors suspended and pre-departure testing from today

From today (Monday 18 January), passengers travelling to the UK will have to demonstrate a negative COVID-19 test before departure.

All travel corridors into England have been suspended, meaning that all travellers from outside the Common Travel Area will be required to self isolate for 10 days on arrival.

The number of jobs that qualify for exceptions for the 10 day isolation period have also been reduced.

Travel from a number of countries is also banned.

These changes have been introduced due to concerns about new strains of coronavirus emerging.
