National Booking Service opens for those of 45 and overNational Booking Service opens for those of 45 and over

The National Booking Service for COVID-19 vaccination is now open for those of 45 and over in England.

The JCVI has also issued JCVI final statement on phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccination programme: 13 April 2021 This confirms offers of vaccination during phase 2 are age-based and in the following order:

  • all those aged 40 to 49 years
  • all those aged 30 to 39 years
  • all those aged 18 to 29 years

The advice suggest those individuals aged 18 to 49 years, where there is an increased risk of hospitalisation in males, those from certain ethnic minority backgrounds, those with a body-mass index (BMI) of 30 or more (obese or morbidly obese), and those experiencing socio-economic deprivation, should take up their offer of vaccination promptly.

Separate advice has been issued on suitable vaccines for those under 30.
