The one-dose Janssen COVID-19 vaccine has been approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

Twenty million doses of the vaccine have been secured for use across the UK, with first deliveries are expected later this year.

Janssen coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine authorised by UK medicines regulator

The approval is for people aged 18 and over. The decision on whether to use the vaccine in pregnant or breast-feeding women should be made with advice from a healthcare professional after considering the benefits and risks.

People who have an allergy to one of the components, as detailed in the patient information leaflet, should not receive the vaccine.
